Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Heading north take a right just before Blue Mtn. Variety on to Washburn Road, follow going past gate on right and go left up a hill. This road is used by snowmobiles so keep an eye out. There was a good 10" of new snow on the road. The next gate was open but we decided to park there. We had gotten temporarily suck with my big ass suburban doing a 3-point turn. Good thing we had a few shovels. FYI this gate was closed during the summer months a few years back when we hit North Blue & Mt Blue.

Comments
Comments: Once through the gate in a few hundred yards or so we went right up a newer logging road, through a landing picking up an older logging road, followed that for a bit, once it started to drop we jumped off to start bushwhacking SE in nice open woods heading toward West Blue's northern ridge. Lots of very recent moose activity. The nice woods continue until couple hundred yards below summit. After hitting the recognized high point, we followed our tracks back to car. There was 10" or so of fresh snow with anywhere from 3 to 4 feet below. Something punching through. Hiked this with Mary, Lisa and Rick
