Our group was nine in total, we started up Nineteen Mile to the hut where we crossed the lake. From the hut 1/3 of our group donned snowshoes and broke trail for the rest where we split into 3 groups of 3. The dome was spectacular with rime covered trees and peak-a-boo views in cloud breaks which continued while on the Carter-Moriah trail to Mt. Hight. While on Hight the winds were high which covered some of the tracks left by the leading pack. Coming down from Hight to meet back up with the Nineteen Mile Brook Trail was easy enough. While we did break out the trail up to the dome it will likely not stay broken out due to the high winds. All in all a tough but good hike. |
