Comments
Comments: After a couple mile walk on the snowmobile-packed Sandwich Notch Road, I snowshoed up part of the Algonquin trail and onto the herd path that leads to Black Mountain Pond. This path was very easy to follow, and the snowshoeing conditions were excellent. Was great to walk out on a frozen Black Mountain Pond, I can't imagine this spot gets more than a few visitors (if any) during the winter months. I spent some time admiring a sizeable ice cliff on the side of Black, then headed back, round trip about 4.5 hours.
