I brought snowshoes but ditched them before turning into Avalon because trail was hard packed first. Big big mistake. Between Field and Willey is a disaster. "Wishing Well " size postholes cover the entire tap trail. I was beating myself up for not bringing. It was a slow going. So, my advice: unless you want to break some bones bring snowshoes. Could use them between Field and Tom as well. Everything is melting, there are soft spots everywhere. Nevertheless, we had a great time with Xena. Views were spectacular. It started to rain as soon as we were out of the woods. I hope trails don't get any worse. I'm guilty as well |
