There was all the spring like trail conditions. There was some snow in the beginning and we started with snowshoes. It changed to bare ground, mud, water, skinny monorail, soft snow so we switched to microspikes. Most of the trail gets the warm afternoon sun. When we hit the spruce trees the snow was firmer and deeper. There was some ice but it was manageable. The ledges were partially bare but if you stepped off them you could sink your whole leg. Windy on top but great views. |
