Comments
Comments: No surprise probably, but no need for snowshoes here. You will want light traction right from the get go if you are doing the loop counter clockwise. The ledges on the side of Welch are clear of ice, though with the cold temps coming the ice will be back in some spots.

Ledges on backside of Dickey still have some ice but are navigable. There are some spots on both trails, short in nature, that have some pretty bullet proof ice. You'll want to pay attention. Coming off Dickey, there is some of this by the waterfall rock. Once you get down Dickey a ways, you can take your light traction off. There are a few more spots where it could be used but I found it to be easily navigated without the microspikes.
