This route was perhaps 2/3rds snow free this evening. Some areas of a dusting of snow, some areas of blue ice hidden by said dusting, some areas of ice monorail, some areas of blue ice, and lots of bare ground. Some may want traction, but there are a lot of areas of bare ledge that will wear out traction. I barebooted cautiously roundtrip. The upcoming storm should hopefully return this to reasonable snowshoeing. |
