Comments
Comments: We began at Shannon Pond. Once you find the trailhead, the trails are very well marked and easy to follow. The ground was bare in only a few small spots, and the snow was soft and moveabke. Snowshoes were required the entire distance. We broke out the first .7 miles of the High Ridge Trail. The last 1.1 miles of that trail was already broken out bc it doubles as a snowmobile trail. Lots of snowmobiles today but the trail is as wide as a carriage road at that point and we stepped aside to let them through. The drivers were all courteous; they slowed down upon seeing us and waved thank yous. We ran into several of them at the summit and they congratulated us on our hard work.
