Comments
Comments: i walked the tudor trail around the west side of willard pond finding just enough snow for snowshoes with some bare spots. i stayed on the trail past the larger drainage coming off willard then turned north finding a blue marked trail that worked for a bit before i started a bushwhack towards the peak. snow off trail had mostly full coverage though not very deep. crusty in the shade, wet and heavy in the sun. much of the ascent was in a logging cut full of near continuous moose sign with some nice views higher up. i poked around a bit before the highpoint and found nice vistas to bald, wapack range, etc. the highpoint is recognized and hard to miss as there is a very large boulder on top of what is otherwise a pretty flat summit area.

leaving willard i took a line on robb mountain and found good woods most of the way with some deeper snow than on willard. the summit is an open cut with a large rock as the highest spot. i continued on the ridge to bald with more good woods including one beautiful open stretch of hardwoods before the final climb up to bald. i picked up the tamposi trail just west of the highpoint and followed it over the top and down to the ledges and their great views. a fair amount of bare rock on the upper descent and i almost took my snowshoes off before once again hitting reasonable snow coverage back to the trailhead.
