Comments
Comments: The conditions were perfect for today's hike! Despite the partially cloudy predicted skies, the views from the lookout and the summit were incredible. I crossed paths with the care taker on my ascent and ran into a friendly hiker who ended up joining me for the day's adventure! There had been a new dusting of snow on the trails which were all packed down nicely and crampons were the preferred tool for today for the entire hike. I started my decent around 2:30 and by then the sun had warmed up the new dusting of snow, turning it mushy in open spots which then caused some icing up on my crampons. This descent didn't present many opportunities to enjoy my new butt sled so if this is a new path for you, consider leaving your sled at home; I would have.
