the"winter" lot ($3 fee), was plowed with room for probably 6 cars. Note that the owner of the property stated that stating Monday 4/3, he is closing the lot for mud season. |

Ice - Breakable Crust, Snow - Unpacked Powder, Snow - Drifts |

All water crossings were either bridged or could easily stepped over. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
For winter accents, there is a serious lack of blazing once you get above the first northeasterly facing ledges. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
A dog would not have problems with this trail. |

| Lost and Found: |
Lost a set of Leki poles at the top and would really like them back. |

| Comments: |
We broke this trail bottom to top. Have never hiked Piper before, the lack of blazes and or cairns at and after the first ledges, and we even with a map, it was difficult to locate and stay on the trail. With the 30-50 mph winds our steps on the ledges were quick wiped away. |
