 | Comments: |
The lower part of the trail appears to have been broken out with snowshoes and then used fairly heavily by bare-booters, although postholing isn't a problem. About a mile from the hut, the trail was largely obliterated by last night's high wind. Most people today were bare-booting, so the upper trail is narrow and a mess. From the hut to the summit, the mountain is either bare rock or deep snow. I wore crampons, although they were useless. Snowshoes wouldn't have helped much with all of the bare rock. Although not an easy hike, the weather today was incredible! |
