Peaceful being first on the trail today. There was a fairly firm snowshoe track going up until you get close to the ridge where it disappeared and you were trail finding. Not hard if you look for the blazes. It was pretty windy up top but you were well shielded until the last couple of hundred feet when you leave the trees. A large group starting after me was having a rather lengthy debate in the parking lot whether to take snowshoes or not (if you're having that debate then you probably should) and decided not to so coming down that nice snowshoe track was all torn up... Snow softening up as you neared noon. |
