 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Plenty of parking a lot @ end of Randolph Hill Road. We were 1st car in & last car out. We saw lots of evidence of cross country skiiers on Cook Path that came after us but left before us. |

A few minor bridged(?) spots. A couple requiring a "leap of faith" |

Trail consisted of 10+ inches of new snow. We post-holed thru a crust too despite wearing snowshoes. The conditions were tiring! |

Broke "trail" from car to summit, it was exhausting. It snowed on us all day, our tracks were partly filled in on our return. We had much bigger plans but the weather conditions & snow depths prevented us going beyond this single peak. Hiked Cook Path to its intersection at head of Ice Gulch, where we began our 'whack towards southeast ridge of Black Crescent South. Mostly open woods with a couple of thicker areas. All in all it was a pretty straight forward hike. Fun day even though the weather didn't participate. |
