Terrific late afternoon hike after full morning skiing Wildcat - hit this favorite on the way home. No views but for the fog. About 1/2 mile from summit hit large ice patches - very slippery - I didn't carry any traction so was prepared to turn around but just barely got by without traction. The last .2 to summit had a large swath of deep snow - it was pretty solid so I was OK in trail runners. Nice almost 2K vertical! YAY! Saw some fresh moose signs. |
