Comments
Comments: The first 1.5 miles or so are completely clear of snow. There is a fair bit of mud, but much it can be avoided by stepping on rocks. There was still a decent amount of snow starting about a mile before the Mt. Webster summit, continuing through the descent of Mt. Jackson, until arriving back at the fork in the two trails. The monorail was fairly unstable in many places and postholing was inevitable. The upper sections of trail were pretty wet (lots of wet rocks) in both directions, but there was more ice on the descent of Mt. Jackson along the Webster Jackson Trail. Microspikes were very helpful, and probably recommended for another couple of weeks.
