| Dog-Related Notes: |
At Pinkham I saw a Goldendoodle with pretty severe damage to his paws after a hike up Washington that he wasn't ready for. C'mon people, please think and/or be prepared. If your dog isn't used to outdoors miles, a climb up 4,200ft of granite is stupid and inhumane. Fwiw, good, (and cheap) dog booties can be had at www.dogbooties.com.... |

| Bugs: |
Surprisingly few... |
|
| Lost and Found: |
Found someone's iPhone and wallet while walking down the Auto Road. Had been runover multiple times, but got it back to its owner... (longer story) |

| Comments: |
Went up Boott Spur to avoid the crowds. The folks at the Pinkham Notch info desk were scaring people away with talk of needing crampons and ice axe. Ugh. Of course no snow until 3750ft, and then just brief patches up to the 4300ft treeline. Ravine still closed, but Lion's Head Summer Route open. Came down the Auto Road, walking down about two miles before a nice international couple offered me a ride back to Pinkham. |
