Comments
Comments: SBT is a long but very beautiful way to get to Sandwich and / or Jennings. Easy grades for most of the way as well as good footing. Pretty forest, waterfalls, cascades, glacial boulders ... what a great trail!

Lots of mud in the lower half of SBT. The upper half is drier. The steeps up to Jennings were a little slick due to the recent rain. On the hike up the valley, I could see Jennings in the clear. When I arrived, it was in a cloud. After I left, back in the clear again. :P Also very cold on the summit today. On the way out I took both YJT (meh, kinda ho hum) and PFT, which was lovely, following along the impressive Smarts Brook Gorge.

A pretty quiet day on the trails. I saw a few people up on the ridge and at Jennings, but only two along SBT. If you want a quiet approach to these peaks, this is the way to go.
