| Comments: |
With rain forecast in the Whites, Anne L. and I opted for another fine hike in the Castle in the Clouds Conservation Area. In contrast to the more direct route of Mt. Shaw, Banana, and Tate Trails, the longish loop was well signed and easy to follow with good footing. Excellent looks north at Mt. Shaw and a nice view of Winnipesuakee and the Belknaps at Black Snout. Both peaks are on the Ossipee-10 and LRCT lists, and Shaw shows rightfully on 52wav. Be sure to check out the spectacular water falls and cascades on the Brook Walk if you plan a hike in the LRCT. |
