Comments: Six of us spent a couple of days on a nice adventure. We hiked up to Madison Hut via Madison Gulf Trail. While "physical," the ascent went smoother and easier than we had psyched ourselves for. I am on the "short" side... and was able to reach all of the handholds, etc. After dropping gear at the hut, we split into two groups.. each of us redlining different trails. My group went up to Adams via Star Lake... just lovely looking back at the lake. On day two we descended via Buttress Tr. There were giant talus fields and a couple of slippery drops (we slung a rope on a tree twice for safety)... but the descent went well. The W. Branch of the Peabody was easily forded. Great time with Rosemary, Sandy, Gale, Marion and Matt.
