Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parked at the Boy Scout Camp, I went to admin office and they didn't seem that much interested in me since I was just out for a day hike. They were too busy handling hundreds of Scouts that were checking in for the week.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Rock hop-able
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There is a big blowdown across the Anna-Stage Road Trail (Blue) just as you start to go back up after going over the bump that overlooks the swamp (that's a swell outlook on top of that bump). Trails well blazed and exceptionally clear. There is no trail head sign Mack-Ridge Trail (Orange) but it was easy to find since I was looking for it, trail is well blazed.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: why not but keep it leashed the camp is extremely busy on Saturdays
Bugs
Bugs: If I stopped for a second deer flies found me!

Comments
Comments: This was a good rugged loop with lots of ripe blueberries everywhere! Fine vistas and nice woods. I only saw three people on the trails the whole hike--three people from PA sitting on top of Shannon. The Mack-Ridge might be my new favorite trail. I took a short bushwhack to the top of the 1644' summit bump--truly blueberry heaven. Anyone know what the big boulder nearing the bottom of the Mack-Ridge Trail is named--it is something Rock but the paint is too faded away to read.
