Comments
Comments: This section of the Nancy Pond Trail is in great shape. The Nancy herd path is easily followed all the way.

Other than one person coming up a drainage line below the base of Nancy Cascade I didn't see anyone else all the way to Nancy. I spent nearly an hour up there enjoying lunch, the weather, views and solitude. After descending I encountered momma moose and junior in the water near the shore of Norcross Pond. After keeping my distance and observing for a while I noticed them inching away from the shore so I made a break for it - and they broke toward the opposite shore.

I started the whack to Duck Pond Mountain near the SE shore of Nancy Pond. Initially thick, it became gradually less so the higher up I went. I ended up on a hump which I thought HAD to be the high point but no sign or register meant this wasn't it. I backtracked and found the summit proper in just a couple of minutes - turns out I over shot and missed it originally. I guess if I were going after a list it might make the scrapes feel a little better :)

I crossed paths with 8 backpackers along the way and a couple going to visit Nancy Cascades. This trek had a lot going for it: great summit views, beautiful mountain ponds, artifacts, moose, off trail adventure, very nice weather...and not many people.
