Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Reached from 4 way junction in Bartlett turn onto river street and cross over Saco river bear left and trailhead is on your right. Room for 5 cars and full when we arrived but there is a second lot right across the street along the river with room for 10+ cars.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Only significant crossing is just past the wilderness sign 1 mile in easy rock hop
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: For the first mile were Mt Langdon trail follows the logging road - trail bed is narrow with encroaching vegetation some of which has nasty thorns. In the stretch in the Dry river wilderness there are numerous blowdowns, most old but a new step over and duck under just into the wilderness area and a cluster just before you begin the ascent up Oak hill you need to duck under and climb through. Mount Parker trail also had a number of blowdowns mostly old but a couple of new stepovers on the way to the summit.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: An easy one for the canines - there is water at the crossing at 1 mile and a few sources for the next .5 miles but dry after that so bring some extra for the canines. Met one on the trail toady.
Bugs
Bugs: Out and biting from bottom to top and quite bad at the summit, bring the bug spray.

Comments
Comments: For those taking the trail just be aware that the lower mile follows a narrow trail bed on the logging road with encroaching vegetation - among this vegetation are some plants with nasty thorns - we ended with numerous bloody scratches! Other than that - a great trail with easy/moderate grades all the way to the summit though you do have to climb back up oak hill on the return. Amazing views from the summit of Mount Parker looking up the rocky branch all the way to Mount Washington. Hazy but still great views. Trail was dry with just a few spots of mud. Not the most crowded of trails, we met only 6 people all days but the Mt Parker definitely worth a visit.
