| Comments: |
This is a longish but interesting and varied hike and provides a good break from the Whites. A map is available online and also outside the park headquarters. But note that the map shows Middle Mountain Trail ending at the (unmarked) summit, whereas it actually continues well on down the shoulder. North Mountain is a worthy climb, highlighted by the impressive rock faces and boulders, and the South Mountain fire tower offers a good 360 view. The total loop is approximately 11 miles and 2000 feet elevation gain. |
