Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Water is very low and even mud pits were dry
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There is a tree across the Ammo between Gem Pool and the next water crossing, looks like it has been there most the summer and it isn't a step over....I am surprised it hasn't been removed. Trails in excellent, Davis Path was easy to follow and there are signs for all spur trails but I think the signs at Mt. Crawford and Stairs Col are confusing because the signs are on two different trees for Davis Path and the spur and the Stair col. Actually met someone that confessed they descended Stairs Col thinking it was the Davis Path (yikes).
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: There is little to no water on the Davis Path
Bugs
Bugs: none
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: A nice red Vans cap hanging on a tree, sadly it looked like it spent the night on the Ammo Trail

Comments
Comments: I had a later start than planned and thought I'd run into the Davis Path trail adopter and help out but I never found him so I took my extra time to visit on the peaks along the way. I passed a few small groups on my way up the Ammo. Washington was in the clouds and it was spitting snow when I reached the Lakes of the Clouds Hut, campers in a tent set up right in the trail in front of the hut at 9:20 am! I decided to take the Camel Trail to Davis and thankgoodness for the cairns to lead me there and as soon as I lost a little elevation I was below the clouds and had a fun time descending. Picked up a fellow at Glen Boulder junction who joined me in the short whack to the North Isolation highpoint and all the way to Isolation. I continued on and boy oh boy I forgot how nice Mt. Davis is..seriously nicer than Isolation. I startled a backpacker between Davis and Stairs and didn't see any other people until I was leaving Stairs. Trail was easy to follow and all the mud pits were dry. On Crawford I met a nice local family from Hales Location!
