Comments
Comments: Dry trail all around today. Easy going up the ridge to Roberts with amazing clear air providing stellar views out over the lake and out to the Whites from the summit sign (not the actual summit). Our climb up Roberts included a hunt for a particular mushroom, which someone had posted a photo of recently, but that we could not locate. :(

Easy walking over to Faraway, where we hopped on the tower access road for a short distance. We were looking for the old carriage road that once went across the two minor southerly bumps of Faraway. At a spot with flagging on both sides, we left the access road and bushwhacked southeast through open woods, initially finding the old corridor, then quickly losing it. We arrived on the first (northwest) bump and continued toward the second (southeast) bump. After a slight drop between the two, we regained what appeared to be the old road, which was on a raised bed with a rock foundation along one edge. This led directly to the SE bump. The highpoint here appears to be a raised ledge. No other signs of recognition on either bump that we noticed. From the SE bump, we whacked due south a very short distance back to the HRT. We retraced our route back down instead of doing a loop.

It was interesting to check out this old road, which is pretty much lost to nature at this point.
