Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: No problems at all
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There is a walkunder about .5 miles below the summit that has a limb hanging down into the trail; keep an eye open as taller hikers can walk into it.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Should be easy for the canines, last water at crossing 1.5 miles in
Bugs
Bugs: Prior report was right about the bees! There is a hive right alongside the trail in a rotten log; it is on the stretch above where you head up the steep pitch away from the brook - a couple of tenths of a mile above the steep pitch (to the left on the way up and right on the way down) - they were out and active today - one did sting me today.

Comments
Comments: Another hike to a lesser travelled peak to avoid the crowds - worked out as we were the only people on the trail all day. Nice grades though there are a couple of steep pitches as you're heading up the switchbacks below the summit. Usual minor spots of mud down low. Leaves down on the upper parts of the trail on the switchbacks did lead to a few slips. Great views from the top but not much change in foliage - a few reds and yellows but pretty much still a sea of green.
