| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
plenty of parking at the RR bridge on Rt 16 in Gorham. We followed this optional approach, and were glad we brought a copy of the directions with us. |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Leaves - Significant/Slippery |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
|
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
a few easy rock hops |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trails in good shape. A couple of blow downs heading up Mt. Hayes (both minor) and one blow down just before the summit of Cascade (we moved this one somewhat, but it needs a small saw to remove branches still in the trail). No blazes between Centennial Trail and Cascade Mt. Surprising as this is the AT. The trail did take some effort to follow with the foot bed covered by leaves. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
great hike for dogs |

| Comments: |
Fun day for a "52 with a view", and a spare. Fun stop at Mascot Pond, and a different perspective on the Presidentials, and the Moriah ridge. |
