Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Both Crossings were easy.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails were in good shape with some step overs. Two large blowdowns at 1/4 mile on the Az from the Avalon Jct. I had my saw, so I opened them up to get through. One is now a crawl through on your knees and the other (just on the other side of it) is a step over. Would have been a pain to bushwhack around. It's going to take a chainsaw to open this one up. Lots of fresh clearing done down lower on the Avalon.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: I saw a few today.

Comments
Comments: Beautiful day on the trails today. No wind with sunny sky and mild temps. Willey Range had a lot of ice, but easy to navigate around. I didn't take the Avalon down from Field. After seeing all the ice on the Willey Range, I decided to go back down the AZ. Good choice, the footing is much better although it's about a 1/2 mile further, one can make better time. I noticed on my way home that the Sawyer River Rd. is still gated.
