 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
The trailhead for the Cherry Mountain Trail was accessible, even though there was a light coating of ice/snow. |
|
 | Surface Conditions: |
Ice - Black, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Snow/Ice - Small Patches |
|
 | Recommended Equipment: |
Light Traction |
|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Only two small water crossing, and both are very doable at all seasons of the year. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Both the Cherry Mountain Trail and Martha’s Mile have been cleared of all blowdowns that resulted from the Halloween Storm. So, as of 21-Nov-2017, both trails are in great shape.
Lost a few blazed trees as a result of the storm. So, in a few spots I got permission from the Forest Service to place some temporary flagging which will be removed in the Springtime when it will be practical to do some re-blazing. |

Ice has started to form at the steep final approach to Owl’s Head. Would be advisable to bring Microspikes for use on at least this segment of trail. |
