Icy parking lot, and the ice continued so I put hillsounds on at the first water crossing. Then just after the crossing it was muddy and bare. At the Avalon/A-Z Junction the trail had a nice base. I noticed the most snow depth on the Willey Range Trail. The snow started to gently fall as I was leaving Mt. Field and by the end of the hike it was sleeting. Nice to meet Greg and talk about our dogs. Saw a grand total of 3 hikers. As a side note, I noticed the Willey Range Trail heading to Mt. Willey - it looked like that section has had it's fair share of use recently. Still too soon for snowshoes as of today.
