Comments
Comments: We did a short loop up Orange Mountain and over to Rimrock and South Peak, to review the condition of the trails post-October rain event and subsequent wind storms. The high winds and limited time kept us off Mt. Cardigan proper.

We were pleasantly surprised to see run-off/erosion damage limited to the Manning and Holt Trails, in particular near the first bridge past the lodge and from there the next footbridge, as well as undermining of some of the rock steps past the Croo Bridge.

Vistamont Trail is in good shape; erosion was minimal. There were a few blowdowns, which we removed.

Skyland Trail did not seem more eroded than it already is in a few places heading down from Orange Mountain, and also heading up toward Rimrock.

Plenty of blue ice just about everywhere on the ledges on Orange Mountain; light traction was very helpful.

A lovely day out.
