Comments
Comments: This hike was in remembrance of a friend we lost a year ago as well as a friend's last 4000 footer. It started to snow lightly up to Cabot, with biting winds at the top, but below treeline it was great. The snow was packed out and only 2-3 inches deep, so no snowshoes required. We wore microspikes the whole way and would have been impossible without them. Lots of blowdowns form the fall wind storm were on the Kilkenny Ridge Trail and to a lesser extent on the Unknown Pond Trail. Ran into a group of 4 at the cabin, but other than that, no one else.
