| Comments: |
This entire route is frozen solid but not smooth, with many rocks still poking above the snow. Snowshoes are not needed, but light traction is. The short walk on Carriage Road is icy. Beyond Piper's north peak, things are a bit less consolidated. After the junction with PWL, it's just light boot traffic. Of course, this is all going to change after the upcoming storm. I walked the ridge all the way down to the south ledges, where the bright sun offset some of the cold temps and wind. There were a couple of other cars at the gate, but I saw no one.
Thanks to "Wycked" for leaving a little winter solstice trail magic on my car! :) |
