Comments
Comments: A good snowshoe for a frigid day, trying to minimize exposure to the wind. Trail well packed up to the falls, then somewhat softer up to the cut-off. Cut-off was unbroken, as was Middle Sister Trail up to the summit, calf to thigh deep in most spots. Biting wind on the summit, didn't stay long. Rather than break out Middle Sister to Piper/Champney junction, we elected to follow our tracks back down the cut-off. Ran into a group descending from the falls, and from Chocorua on our way in, and saw a couple at the falls near sundown on our way out. Good to be out in flurries and the cold with Rachel.
