Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: No blowdowns, step-overs or duck-unders. Excellent trail markers the entire way (thanks LRCT). Lower Bridal Path was well packed down by snowshoes, Upper Bridal Path was not broken out since last snowstorm. Someone had skied the trail but those tracks were almost erased by blowing snow. My snowshoes were sinking down 4 to 12 inches on almost every step. Oak Ridge Cutoff was not broken out since last storm, I was sinking down 6 to 12 inches. There were clear tracks to follow from before last storm and those helped. High Ridge Trail showed no signs of previous trail breaking and I was sinking 8 to 16 inches with almost every step (with occasional short sections of sinking 4 inches where snow crust was harder). I realized I could never get through the final 1.8 miles to the summit of Shaw so I turned around after maybe an 1/8th of a mile on High Ridge.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: No dogs out today. Dogs might have been light enough to stay atop the thin snow crust.
Bugs
Bugs:
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing on the trail

Comments
Comments: Beautiful day to be out on these trails. A group of 2 or 3 could have probably pushed on to the summit of Shaw. Strictly snowshoes from Shannon Pond on. There were some 3 foot drifts once you got to High Ridge Trail. Views were great. Numerous deer tracks. It will take a few more people before Upper Bridal and Oak Ridge Cutoff are really packed down. Didn't see anyone on the trails.
