Comments
Comments: Great trek up Starr King and across to Waumbek today. Very cold temps but clear skies and great views of the Presis across the way. Was on the fence about microspikes vs. snowshoes but seemed like quite a few folks on the trail today and figured it would be packed down. Ended up using katoolahs the whole way, couple postholes here and there but as long as you stayed on the monorail you were okay. Would say about a dozen folks wearing light traction and only a couple wearing snow shoes. Made quick work of going down, nice not to have to worry about rocks and roots.
