I was the first one up Cabot today, a there and back. Trail was in solid when I started, used microspikes up to Kilkenny. A few inches of fresh powder and drifting up higher so switched to snowshoes and kept them on most of the day, which worked well as the trail softened up and traffic increased. There were a lot of hikers out today, must of passed 20 on the way back down. Some in boots /light traction but many were using snowshoes so the trail should still be in decent shape.
If you are planning this hike for tomorrow I'd suggest to stick to snowshoes if you have them. |
