We used spikes from trailhead to summit; no need for snowshoes. Trail is hard and sometimes icy. Very windy at the top, where wind chill was well below zero. Make sure you carry a windbreaker and something to cover your face. Goggles would also help. Evergreen trees beautifully frosted with snow and ice, glittering against a deep blue sky. |
