Comments
Comments: The worst part of the trails today were choppy with some postholes on the ridge before the summit of Carter Dome, other than that these were the best conditions I've ever seen for the Cats and Dome with the least amount of ice bulges. Generally the conditions consisted of a solid stable base with frozen granular uneven surface. We carried snowshoes and didn't need them for flotation whatsoever. Sharp hillsounds worked great. Paid the $10 to walk down the slopes, totally worth it. Least ice I've seen on these trails during winter. Thanks to Billy Freitas for good company. Saw 7 people total. Thought I could hike this cold/cough out of me - but I was wrong.
