Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Small lot at gate on Carriage Road (gate was open for snowmobiles but not for vehicles). Two other cars there when we started out but I don't think they were hikers, drivers were just sitting in their running cars. When we got back there were two different cars. Lot can hold 3 or 4 cars probably.

Comments
Comments: Redlining trip in the Belknaps. Up Piper Mountain Trail, over Piper and down to Swett Mountain. Then back over to Belknap and down Warden's Trail to the top of Carriage Road. The we caught the .2 piece of White Trail to Old Piper Trail. After that we roadwalked back to where we parked on Carriage Road. Most of the trails had plenty of boilerplate ice and blue ice bulges. The descent on Warden's Trail was one continuous blue ice glacier. We used Microspikes all day, except that I switched to crampons partway down Warden's Trail as it felt more secure. Snowshoes were never necessary, but you definitely needed traction all day. Thanks to Lone Wolf for a nice day.
