Almost speechless after today's hike. A cold day but the winds seemed to diminish just as I made it up Pierce. Was nothing but a strong breeze until I reached the summit of Eisenhower. That's where the Balaclava and goggles went on. Trail conditions were great with only spikes. Some sections up Eisenhower Loop were fairly icy but definitely doable. Edmands Path has minor postholes most of the way. Most are shallow, but it slowed the descent down a bit. After a good snow and someone breaks it with Snowshoes it should be fine. All in all a wonderful experience and a great day to myself. |
