Valley Way was hard packed but lumpy from post holes and temperatures warming up then refreezing this week. Microspikes were fine going up. Above treeline, I stayed in micros until decent from Adams, where I switched to Hillsounds. These worked better with some icy areas under the snow. Going up Madison and Adams, rocks were exposed and some snow/ice have filled in between the rocks. Wore Hillsounds for decent on Valley Way. Snowshoes went for a ride today. Saw many people out, including some familiar faces. It was a pleasant day above treelike with light winds. |
