Bare booted in a half mile then slapped on the snowshoes. Kept them on up to hut then micro spikes to summit and all the way down. Nice level packed powder trail up to Valley Way tent site trail. Above that a 6 inch layer of drifted powder on trail. Hard to get good traction on steeper sections. Hut is surrounded by ice. Osgood trail up to summit you can rock hop or just beat up your spikes. Patches of ice and snow but mostly rock. Very gusty at summit. Almost got knocked over. Awesome views though. Coming back down snow was very sticky. #45!! |
