Comments
Comments: Old Bridle Path was holding up pretty well up to the outlook. From here to the hut and to treeline had uneven snow, choppy and minor postholes, not as bad as I thought it was going to be but not too great either. Above treeline was pretty much like hiking in summer, most of the snow is gone, except for the scrubby sections between peaks. Some ice here and there but it was all easily avoidable or quickly turning to slush and melting out. I wore my beater spikes but they weren't needed today, but will be once everything freezes again. This was an out and back of Lafayette and Lincoln so I have no major intel on Falling Waters Trail other than a pair of hikers telling me that the snow bridges were becoming very unstable. Once the temps drop bring good microspikes and an old pair for above treeline until the next decent snowstorm. If temps go above freezing bring your snowshoes for below treeline to smooth out the trail.
