Bracket Brook ice bridge was still holding out, but not for long if warm weather keeps up. |

One large 12"+ spruce blow-down 1 mile in easily ducked under. One of the stream crossings had been down cut and crossing was moved down slope 30 yards to better location |

Encountered a lost dog being escorted out by a kindly couple who tried calling # on collar but ha no answer, were going to try to bring the pooch to local police. |

Hasn't been new snow in this region in 2 weeks or so. Snow was wasting away. Mostly cloudy day with temps in low 30s snow pack was supportive and only post-holed 2-3 times. I managed with Hill-sounds trail crampons. Cloud ceiling was fairly high most 4K's to north were in clear. Trails were mostly well packed with few bare patches under spruce trees. One 1/2 mile stretch of trail must get more sun was deteriorating snow. |
