Awesome day - trail was in great condition. Only needed light traction. Carter Dome Trail was a little sticky on the descent. 2 patches of roughed up ice were easy to navigate. Only saw 2 other hikers the whole day. Sparkling snow at the summit of Carter Dome. Blue blue sky and no wind. The fog in the notch lifted on the descent so views of Washington were abundant. It will be interesting to see how much snow the Whites get with the projected weather over the next few days.... |
