||Mt. Surprise, Mt. Moriah, NH|
|Date of Hike:
||Monday, March 12, 2018|
|Parking/Access Road Notes:
||AMC book says park on left across from houses. I did that and my car was not attacked. |
||Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Snow - Unpacked Powder |
|Water Crossing Notes:
|Trail Maintenance Notes:
||On your knees, human!!
(It's not that bad.. besides, crawling builds character) |
|Lost and Found:
||If you find my ice ax, it's yours. Just a little incentive for you. One of those many low hanging branches must have picked it right out of my backpack. ||
||Many thanks to the folks who broke trail over the weekend ahead of me. I mean, really, I don't know how you do it! (And I did wear my snowshoes, so don't send the Post Hole Police after me, I was a good old man:) Moriah summit was spooky looking, very surreal, under gathering dark clouds late in afternoon. So much snow you could easily walk up that last scramble, no crampons necessary. ..And now working on much more snow. |
