Someone had been on the trail to about 3000ft where the ridge starts. Then they skied down. I think I might have liked skis as well from that point. But there was still 8-10 inches of new snow in their tracks which needed to be broken out.
Above 3000ft not one track from anyone that I could see. The depth of snow was 18-24 inches of powder until 3600ft. From this point the snow depths were just unreal. Any where from 24 to 30 inches of snow. I never once could my snowshoes once I started from 3000ft to Waumbek`s summit. It took me 1hour and 22mins from Starr King to Waumbek. It`s now in my top 3 climbs in the whites!!
