4 of us gals completed breaking this out. Someone had been part way up (1 or 2 people maybe?) after the Wednesday storm but another 5 or 6" had fallen overnight. We continued past their turnaround to the summit. At times, the drifts were thigh deep. Very low visability once out of the trees heading toward the summit, sometimes hard to make out the cairns. Measured max wind speed was 46 mph. A bad ass hike and a fun day. Recommend snowshoes to the next few people until it gets well packed. |
